Accessibility statement for Ontario businesses: what holds up and what doesn't.

Holds up:
– manual test with screen readers, braille display and keyboard only
– statement signed by a company established in Ontario
– public verification code with a live status (current / retest in progress / lapsed)
– written multi-year plan and answers ready for the AODA report

Does not hold up:
– overlay widgets with no manual testing
– template statements never checked against the real site
– any claim of "AODA certification" — Ontario issues none

Deadline: 31 December 2026. Organisations with 20+ employees in Ontario must file.

First comment: does the company website have a statement today — yes, no, or not sure?

Forward to the web agency or IT manager.
