Since 28 June 2025, the European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882) applies to businesses offering covered services to consumers in the EU — including companies based outside the Union.

Covered services include e-commerce, banking, e-books, electronic communications, passenger transport booking and audiovisual access.

An Annex V accessibility statement is required. It must describe the service in accessible formats, explain how it meets the accessibility requirements, name the standard used (EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.2 AA), list known limitations, and provide a contact for reporting barriers.

The obligation is on the service provider, not the platform.

AccessibilityStatement.org prepares and signs the Annex V statement, tested against EN 301 549 and WCAG 2.2 AA, from 690 €. Free 7-day trial available.
